6" higher and 1'4" longer than a MINI? Even bigger yet than the Clubman? Able to cross center road divides in a single bound?
You keep telling yourself it's a MINI. We'll just wait for you to regain alert conciousness. LOL
Sorry. I don't get it. If you want all wheel drive and off road thrills, Subaru (another small automobile co.) has already done that.
I'm still waiting for the announcement for the MINI KING CAB FULL SIZE ALL WHEEL DRIVE 8 CYLINDER PICK UP.
lol well actually we need to keep telling ourselves that Our mini's are a "Mini" compaired to the Classic Pre BMW Mini... The current Mini is over 2 feet longer just in the wheelbase than the classic and a little over 2 1/2 feet longer overall than a classic Mini. For the Countryman, 6 inches higher and 1 foot longer than a current Cooper are a mear hand and arm's length compared to the new vs the classic. It's 4 1/2 inches higher than a clubman due to part of having 18 inch rims stock on the S with optional 19 and 20 inchers and a little higher ground Clearance. Remember the Classic countryman? It was over a foot longer than a classic mini and the Mini Moke (AKA new Beachcomber) had no doors and a ragtop roof. Personally I think that this is a AWESOME addition to the Mini family and a good way to keep the Mini Brand alive. After all, if they made JUST the classic mini the brand would have ultimately gone under and I think it's a great way to show homage to the classics of the past by re creating new and exciting models. 3 words about the all wheel drive is Snow gravel and wet. When everyone else has to slow down on the Dragon b/c of the rain or their DSC keeps kicking on the awd will plow right through it and just send the power to which wheel needs it. There are several times where I wish I just had another foot of space so I won't have to drive the truck and can be in my Mini all the time and I think this is the perfect compromise. Personally I've Driven a Subaru and a Mini with awd will run circles around it. anyways, How much fun would the world be if us mini ppl had to be driving a Subaru b/c the Mini never came out with the beauty of awd. Now we don't even have to think of that. : ) Mini did make a truck as well so ya never know. I'm sure that is down the line. Doubt king cab, full size, awd and 8 cylinder though. I'd imagine they would keep it 2 seater as in the classic truck. I saw a friend of mine's Mini Truck in Florida at Mickey and Mini 2 years ago and it was SWWWWEEEETTTT!!! I agree with Patrice though, As with the R-56 I'm going to wait till I get to touch it and play around with it before I make my final judgment but I ordered the R-56 sight unseen other than pictures and was totally not disappointed. (Except the fact it took Brian Harris service 2 years to learn how to fix them)
